As a Youth Residential Worker you will:

  • Work as part of a team to ensure best outcomes for children and young people in your care
  • Provide a therapeutic and safe environment where you are consistent with trauma informed practice
  • Plan and coordinate recreational activities for the children which promote positive growth and development
  • Complete any necessary paperwork and administrative tasks which are required such as case reporting & written communications
  • Undertake and ensure general housekeeping tasks are being completed and the home environment is kept to a high standard
  • Act as a positive role model for young people and support in the development of independent living skills
  • Navigate through challenging behaviours and conflict in a safe and supportive manner

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a children’s residential setting with for at least one year
  • Certificate III and Certificate IV in Community Services (or in a related field)
  • National police clearance no older than 12 months
  • Two senior professional references
  • NDIS Screening check
  • Working with Children Check
  • The ability to work a mixture of shifts including days, nights, sleepovers and weekends
