PSP CASEWORKER

Location: Wollongong

Salary: $84,000 – $88,0000

Hours: Full Time, Permanent

THE ROLE

The Caseworker is responsible for providing high quality and effective case work services for children and young people in Out-of-Home-Care and Permanency Support Programs, supporting and developing carers, and supporting the recruitment of foster and kinship carers. You will be required to:

· Ensure that children and young people in Out-of-Home-Care and Permanency Support Programs receive services that meet their needs;

· Ensure foster and kinship carers are supported to provide high quality care and positive outcomes for the children and young people in their care;

· Establish collaborative relationships with a wide range of specialist and mainstream services to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families; and

· Develop and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with Aboriginal and CALD agencies

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• Minimum Diploma level qualification in a relevant field
• Strong background and experience in case management, ideally within the PSP space or OOHC space

  · Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families;

  · Proven ability to relate to and work with children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties;

  · Understanding of Out-of-Home-Care and Permanency Support policy, standards and quality frameworks;

  · Experience in carer recruitment and support; or the capacity to develop these skills;

  · Demonstrated capacity to develop collaborative relationships across professional and organisational boundaries;

  · Willingness to undergo a Working With Children’s Check
